Houseplants: Norfolk island pine Phal orchid pothos ivy philo ivy (cuttings) mother in law/snake plant ...possible others Outdoor plants: sweet violet ajuga/siberian bugloss purple heart ivy cast iron plants ...and comng up soon in the garden... named canna lilies elephant ears caladiums yellow ginger morning glories (many varieties) ...possibly many others

If you have a common garden variety reed stem epidendrum you do not need to fuss over it at all. Garden variety is what they are here, just garden plants, common name crucifix orchid. Some people collect different colours. I like Nancy's description of huge snarly messes. That is what you you will get if the plant is given too much shade. There is a clump down the backyard. Almost full sun. Annual temperature range 1 to 40C. I have some better ones where orchid breeders have reduced the plant size somewhat and improved flower quality. They are with my Cattleyas in a shadehouse. My Phals are in the house, they would not survive "outside"

Nil 13, now that's something I'd love to see, can you possibly post a picture of it. LilBit, omg ... just what are you doing, so far I'm sorry to say it's only gotten hotter over here so whatever you're doing a Stop! It reached the 100's today and it had been cooling off. Lol ... just kidding of course but it did get up into triple digits today :/ I had to take a long break today whew... Azteqen, thanks I've actually had this one for a while but it just started blooming more this year, I had to invest in some soil amendments to get her to act right ( lil humor)ð¡ yeah I've seen others colors they all look nice with brilliant colors. I have heard they grew like weeds but that hasn't been true for me. I did start from a plant cutting which at first I thought it was a succulent of some type, then later i purchased a 3 gal.potted plant and there she is. i was looking in the ebay sites and under plants there were a few of the crucifix ones for sale, hope that helps . . cheers lorraine
