I've planted Asian greens, Pak Choy, Choy sum, mustard greens and a chinese spinach. They are doing really well and we'll be eating them soon. We planted carrots and beans, climbing and bush beans. We also put in snow peas which will grow a little and be well established for the spring time. The other thing we've planted is lots of corriander.

I've got kohl rabi, carrots, kohl rabi, bunching onions, kohl rabi, spinach, kohl rabi, mesaclun, kohl rabi, mustard and salad green to sow, dwarf snap peas, and kohl rabi, and broadbeans t/c. And did I mention kohl rabi?

Coriander is a good tip for Thai curries etc.

I just have to ask. Why so much kohl rabi? I didn't even know people still still ate the stuff! I remember having it (plain and boiled) as a child and hated it. Do you have some wonderful secret recipe that makes it worth growing?

Kohl rabi is the only brassica I've found to date that thrives in Sydney's temperate climate. Tried brocc, cauli and the dreaded brussels but got sub-standard results. KR packs a similar winter cabbage/turnip punch without much maintenance and the cabbage moths have nothing much to chew. IMHO, it's the perfect brassica for temperate climes, to accompany cornbeef, boiled onions, white sauce, our faux winter.

I just wrote a lovely long note to all of you, then lost it!!!!! I wonder if the peacock will eat Kohkrabi? he eats all the other brassicas,no matter how well covered they are.It shouldn't be too late yet to put some in, as we are soooo much colder than Sydney Is it possible to buy seedlings anywhere, otherwise seeds and where do I get them?
The seeds ordered from Gippsland Seeds haven't arrived as yet so am till waiting.
