Gramma Charma
Anyone got any info on gramma charmas. I had 2 trees that produced an abundant supply of delicious fruit, until I had to have one removed to put in a path. It was the larger of the 2 and had the sweetest and largest fruit, alas. The smaller tree also stopped producing. It has now been 3 years it flowers prolifically and we'd be lucky if we get 10 fruit in a season! At first I thought it was the bees but they definately visit. Then I thought it might be birds eating the flowers can't find any evidence to support this. But the flowers seem to disappear without fertilising ie. none on the ground. Do possums eat their flowers? I'm told they don't need to crosspolinate is this so? Or as one plant seller told me do they 'slow down' at a certain age? Mine would have to be 7-10yrs old.
It just seems so strange to go from a massive harvest one season to zero the next.
