Can someone tell me when should you pick the seeds from these trees. How do you know when they are ripe and do you just plant them fresh and how deep?

    Hi Helene2,
You can cover with a brown paper bag and rubberband and then get back to them later if you like, one of the easier ways of doing it. Please be careful where you plant them, as they can get away in some places. (Just ask the Americans)Good luck. Peter r

When the pods are brown, they are ready to pick. If you put them in a dry place for a few days, the little scales open and a seed will fall out. A paper bag is good for that.

They should germinate easily without any treatment.

If you find cones where the scales are already open, then the seed has been dispersed and you are too late.
