This is in answer to Toni's question about how the leaves of Callisia differ when grown in the sun. Well, to begin with, keep in mind that I am partially color blind, but the leaves look as follows: The leaves have what I call a (maroon?) blush along the edges and down the center of the leaf. The leaves also seem to be somewhat thicker than the ones grown in more shaded areas. They actually look more like a Bromeliad when grown like this. Love them either way!

Yes, but it was after I posted in this forum, so perhaps the person with the answer started here and went over there to post? I don't know if there's a way to close out a discussion thread, but I should at least state here that, yes, my plant has been identified. It's a Pandanus. The specific species is still under discussion. Thank you to anyone who started here and posted in the Name That Plant! forum.

@blakrab Centex, is there no flower photo? as it will be lot more helpful,too few leaves.. The plant slightly reminds me of Plumbago zeylanica the doctorbush, we used it as herbs for flu, myalgia and other ailments alike, hence the local name "encok" leaves (myalgia leaves). could it be that? I wonder.. How ever, if it is indeed P zeylanica, we mostly used it topically, as some said it can be toxic, although I've seen recipes of using it boiled and drunk as tea eta: I think I will add this link as a picture example
