did you sterilize the cutter .. with each cut??? ... .. why do you presume the A is only on black tissue????.. see the conundrum????? how do you know you didnt just spread the problem around ... the sand is irrelevant.. at this point ... who cares about nutrients... i THINK.. you afater a water management media .... yes??? .. no???? it either recovers from the A... or it dies ... if it recovers.. you repot it into sterilized media ... in a sterilized pot... etc .. NEVER fert a stressed plant... its sick..not hungry .... so what difference is the media as far as nutrients ... we arent addressing hunger at this point .... if this is just a seed from a fruit you ate... i would get rid of it ... and go find another fruit to eat.. and start over ... its worth trying.. to learn ... but if its a lost cause.. be done with it.. and start over ... and insure you arent infecting other plants in the area ...... if you paid money for it.. try harder.. lol ... ken

Yes, I would love to see a photo of Groot One Dave also. Are you willing to fess up to how many seedlings you are growing? LOL Cynthia, are you really going to let a minor detail such as space get in the way of planting up seeds. Heck, consider this...you do not have to water the plants all winter, they go dormant so you can set them all around your floorboards in a row around each of your rooms. haha. Just kidding my family would kill me if I did that. I fortunately have a spare bedroom with west facing windows and a nice big ledge that in the living room that I fill with adeniums that faces south. I would love to keep them in my greenhouse but I've lost too many in there since I cannot afford to keep it heated higher than 45 deg F.

Ed, those seem to have very good root systems you have got growing in the pumice. It's something that I've yet to see for sale here in the UK. Admittedly I'm out in the sticks but even the large garden centres that I've visited don't seem to stock pumice in any shape or form. Have you ever germinated them in pure perlite....would that be as good do you think? Perlite is available here from several sources, despite it being composed of at least 50% useless dust that you have to seive out with your very best kitchen seive! Gill
