Torch Ginger

I'm not sure if it's the changing weather patterns or just that some of my plants are maturing, but several of my gingers have flowered for the 1st time ever this year and other plants have flowered much better this year than in previous years.

The Torch Ginger has produced 4 flowers this year, the first time it has flowered for me. One of my Beehive Gingers is also flowering for the first time and it has 6 flowers emerging so far.

The feather just landed there on its own.

I love pelicans, they are one of my favourite subjects, so couldn't resist taking a photo of this one at the Twin Waters Resort.

Such a beautiful flower that Torch Ginger and a Great Pic.
I wonder what you baby is eyeing off there, or maybe it is looking at its reflection.
Those pelicans are one of my favourite birds too Barbara and dont they photograph well.
It looks really at home there is that delightful setting ....Cheers..MM.

Great photos. I don't have any torch gingers, must get some as they are beautiful as is your cat. Pelicans always look so peaceful.

Hi Gaza, Sexy Pink and Torch Ginger will flower in pot, provided the pot is large enough.However, flowering will be less profuse and less frequent if you are comparing pot culture to those planted to the ground,where more space is given for the rhizome to develop properly.
