hello, I have an all yellow/orange rudbeckia ( no dark center) cant remember the name but got it in a trade years ago. I would like some of your numex big jim and red peter pepper. take a look at my list and let me know. thanks

The culprit is either Septoria leaf spot (Septoria rudbeckiae - which is a different fungus than the common black spot that rose family members get) or Angular Leaf Spot (which is bacterial)and is most commonly a problem on Rudbeckia fulgida Goldsturm and its related seedlings. Using varieties other than Goldsturm, City Garden, and Early Bird Gold cuts down on the amount of damage these diseases do. Using more than one variety in the garden when doing mass plantings also helps to reduce the damage. As the plants go into dormancy this fall, remove the foliage, stems, etc and throw away. Don't compost them, get rid of them. When watering, water the base of the plant early in the day so the leaves can dry off quickly. Avoid watering on cool or overcast days if possible. If you have an university extension service nearby (every county should have one) or a Horticulturist who knows how to identify the difference between bacterial and fungal diseases (and one who knows that Rudbeckia is affected by both- there aren't as many of us around as I'd like) get the disease identified since treatment is slightly different depending which you have. Keep a close eye on them every year, at the first signs of disease, start a spray program. For Septoria, rotate between chlorothalonil (Daconil, Fungonil), Mancozeb, and copper fungicide (copper safe, kocide etc). Apply fungicides according to label directions. (usually every 10-14 days). I'm a feng shui garden newbie. I've been in the process of transplanting flowers, shrubs & elements to where I think they might go mostly based on information I've found on the internet. I'm using the feng shui principle as a gentle guide because my garden has never had any order whatsoever and I need a little reining in & balance out there. In my search on the internets, Ive had a hard time finding a list of which plants should go where. I have no idea where black eyed susans would go- I have them in the center area thinking yellow for health and the center. i want to transplant the oddball groupings which are thruout the garden to someplace they'd work also. So short question long- where do black eyed susans work in a feng shui garden plan?
