My sill is just over 4" deep. Keep in mind that my house was built in the early 70's when 4" thick exterior walls were the norm. Now code is 6" thick so if my house was newer, my walls would be thicker and result in a deeper sill. I've been wanting to try a little herb pot or two, but I haven't been able to find any pots to work with my new kitchen's style. My kitchen garden with herbs is an easy jaunt outside now with my new door in the kitchen so it's not tough to grab what I need most times of the year. My golden oregano didn't fair too well for winter harvest this year for some reason. Maybe this pic will help with the sill visual, although the sill looks pretty skimpy here. The finished window showing in the photo is 38" tall, but is actually slightly taller before the framing was done. I think the kitchen windows were 40". (I bought many windows in our whole house reno so my memory is being tested here.) The side panels are each about 17.5" and the center panel is 35". IIRC, I ordered the window as 18/36/18, meaning the side panels were each 18" and the center was 36". Keep looking for a way to get what you want. Depending on your faucet choice, keep in mind the idea of turning the faucet lever in the front like I did with my standard 24" deep base cabs. Not all faucets can be turned this way, and certainly not a bridge faucet if you're going for the "timeless" kitchen style with white farm sink and nickel bridge faucet. HTH!

It's more than tilt, they are curved over their entire length - so "straight" isn't possible.- the first 6-12" out of the pot are straight and the rest is curved on a circular arc. I did stake them to "unbend" the curvature into a straight vertical trunk. I check the tension on them daily wanting to see that tension decline as they grow into their new shape. Here's my thinking on how they got that way: when trees are in pots, the pots tightly packed - when that happens, trees on the perimeter grow away from the group questing for sunlight.

Hi, I have basic sunglasses which got lots of wear, and by now the lens keeps falling out. My below pic. is a sample demo. Is there non-toxic glue which can durably repair it? And is there any video demo of such a repair anywhere? Thanks!

I too feel as if I'm about a week to two weeks early this year. I do a survey every year at the end of June to see what's in bloom (or not) and I'll be able to check a little more thoroughly.....You've started off with two of my favorites of yours; Beryl Quinn and Bali Watercolor. I like the colors on Bali...... Green Inferno reminds me a bit of a thinner version of my Rudy's Sister. I like green daylilies............Maryl
