Thank you everyone for looking and commenting. I have several very bad days when the phone was missing. I am still unsure how it got into the trunk of the car since I never take it there. My daughter found it. Kate, my Chicago star started a bit later this year, no idea wehy except it was a crazy year with many things blooming at odd times. I have given that daylily to a half dozen people and ordered another one to pot and have on hand for onew of my "admirers that stop to look at the lilies and go home with discards. Maryl, so many of the bloomers are Judy Davisson plants. Muy Caliente is reblooming much less than usual here as it normally puts up several scapes for rebloom. a couple of times. Yada Yaada yellow is quite late and still putting up five or six blooms every day and it is just second year. Julia, Crazy Kate begins with a couple blooms then starts send up small bouquets as pictures for quite a while. It is a pretty one but admittedly Playing With Crayons makes a neater plant while blooming much less but the blooms are so pretty and photograph so well. I do so like both Tangerine Tamale and Joe Burrows. Everyone has to know I like bright colors, and Tangerine Tamale just makes me smile when I see it blooming, every time. Mantis, if your area grows similarly to mine you are in no danger of Game Day being a thug. It's habit is similar to Playing /with Crayons, but, of course, much taller. and the leaves extend farther than PWC's leaves., but the base is compact. The stems are 30 to 40 inches plus the bloom itself. Debra, I am very happy with Royal Girls since this is just its second year. It is tall and I do like the color. Intelligent Design always reblooms but it has never done that many new scapes. I think this is the second year for it. It may be the third year, I am not sure. But it is blooming much more this year. He is still waiting to hear from a specialist...probably the 10th of this month. thank you for asking. kay

Hihgland Pinched does indeed make a good clump. Bombay Silk looks good. One seldom sees a good clump of W Pink Wonder. I never had luck with it here, so am glad to see it in amenable territory. And Scarlet Pimpernel would never do that here. I like the color of the Egyptian Ibis seedling, but don't like the blooms not fully open (a Chance E issue). Always happy to see clumps so habit can be assessed.

For the most part scapes are taller and yes foliage is also taller. Purple Paw Print is the only one a bit in the foliage, it is a small plant. The daylilies with shorter scapes are blooming at the top of the foliage. I do grow several smaller daylilies, they are a part of the landscape as opposed to just a bed of daylilies. Several of my daylilies had first blooms on short poorly budded scapes. The remaining scapes are what I usually see. Just another weird thing this season. Sherry
