Boab flower at last

After waiting for ages the boab has flowered. Only one flower out but more buds yet.

The poor stunted plants, and yes I know the grass needs mowing but 55mls of rain put a stop to that.

Thats Fantastic GH you know I never imagined the flower to look like that.
Nature is wonderfull dont you think its looks good.
Nothing worst than trying to mow wet grass especially when the humidity hits you,
And then the sun comes out and everythig is so steamy, so why bother wait till its dry.

Thanks MM. Would you believe the flower has fallen off already. The flower was open this morning (still closed at 5.30pm yesterday) and 4 hours later it is on the ground. There has been a breeze but not that strong. No wonder I had trouble seeing the flowers last year, I kept missing them.

WOW RITA !!!!!you have some very pretty blooms again today,and by the looks of all them buds I seen in 2 of the pictures, you are going to have blooms for some time to come yet.DIMPLED CHEEKS is very pretty, and LAST REWARD, too.HARD TIMES and AUGUST FLAME, I love the colors of them, just not the form.Guess thats what is called SPIDERS?The red color is very pretty, I jst love BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS..Mine was planted and it kept looking worse and worse, till it got down to one tiny leave left,and I thought,I have to do some thing with it,as I dont want to loose it, so dug it back up and put it in a pot, poured root stimulator on it,and now it has 5 nice big fans and a nother small one coming on it too.CHINA BRIDE is a beauty.I just love it.Mine rebloomed on 3 scapes.It still has one bud left on it..Wow, That HARLANDS PRIDE is gorgeous.Thats my favorite along wirh BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS. HJ, I'll post a picture of the boab flower when it is out but don't hold your breath as I've been waiting a couple of weeks now. Marion, I'm not really sure from the photo. I'll try and get a close up of the leaves in the next day or so, it is getting too dark now but probably won't be until Monday though. Mine is definitely a grevillea, one of the rainforest ones and I'm fairly sure it is baileyana. The leaves are bigger - longer and wider than buckinghamia and the backs of the leaves are slightly hairy with a goldy/bronze colour. Especially noticable in windy weather. According to my natives book there are another couple of rainforest grevilleas that have silvery/white backs.

we have a boab that we brought back with us from the kimberley & it's been doing really well, until just recently we noticed bugs on it. We took a leaf to the nursery & was told it had meelee bug & aphids on it, we were given a spray & were told it's because of the unusual humidity.At the moment the lower leaves are turning yellow & dropping off.Is it the time for the leaves to nfall off?

Ive never seen a boab flower, that's great, and look at that cute little swollen trunk, thanks for sharing it, you must be really proud to get it to that stage
