Hi Thrip, Julia's Rose well its only a newie you see I had it mail-ordered from Victoria in June and its a standard, so I have to give it at least a couple of seasons before I start knocking it to much. So far the plant itself if going OK, it has had a little BS but no PM yet, though I did use a organic homemade spray recently, and have also sprayed with Triforne when it first got all its leaves. I have had a lot of trouble with bud worms, caterpillars and every other insect you can think of (except snails I have yet to see one in Qld) as they like it very much so I have sprayed once for them too. It does not ball but the flowers tend to fade a lot turning a dusty pink when full blown.

It did not perform very well during those hot dry windy days we had last month but quite a few of my others didn't either, and I find now that we are having the cooler weather it is looking so much better, and when I sited this new garden bed I put it that way that it only got a few hours of Late/Spring/Summer Sun in the morning (more at other times) and was shaded by the 6mtx6mt shed and tall gum trees in the heat of the day. I will say it does not get any special treatment more than my others do. This pic would be day two and was taken earlier this month after a drop of Liquid Sunshine note the fading of the older bloom nodding.

I have added a link to a posting I put on in early Oct it is a little hard to see but if you look at the first

Collage with Julia's Rose in it you will see that the outer edge of the petals is a bit on the white side.

And that had nothing to do with the light or the camera it was bleached a bit with the sun.

I think it is worth a try, but then I am a softie with plants and will have a go at anything...Cheers..MM.
