Tomato plants dying

Hi all I thought I'd give it a go growing my own tomatoes
This year for the first time.
They started off well but the last few weeks they have turned yellow
An getting spots all over them.since I'm new to growing I don't know
What disease they have or if it's treatable.would appreciate it
If someone could tell me what they have an if it's treatable or should
I just pull them out an start again ?

Tough to say when we can only see a partial leaf. Close-up views are most helpful when accompanied by a picture of the plant overall. Please post a picture of the entire plant.

The only time I'll intentionally wet my plant leaves is if I'm applying neem or BT. Otherwise, I water the soil directly and carefully. Some folks strip off the bottom leaves from tomatoes to avoid splash back and potential spread of disease. I read the information on the fertilizer you used: "These aloe vera products keep a moist layer of hydrating protection on the plants foliage and in garden soils. " I cannot comprehend why you'd want to apply aloe to plant leaves. I feel there's some sort of BS marketing at play here, but I may be wrong. I can't recommend a fertilizing regiment for you, as some people tend to be more strict about quantities/measurements/timing, and others not so much. I am in the "not so much" camp. For my heavy feeders in containers and in raised beds (tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, zucs), I use a fish emulsion 1-5-5 fertilizer every 7-10 days or so. You can use Miracle gro soluble fertilizer like the tomato plant food one - 18-18-21 (if you don't mind using chemical fertilizer) for your containers. It is easy to measure out into a watering can. They say to apply it every 7-14 days. I'd do 7 if you're growing heavy feeders in containers. Since you seem to be growing veggies for personal consumption, you should avoid getting stressed. People garden and grow things to de-stress and relax. Plants leaves curl, yellow, die. As long as the plant looks healthy overall, just snip off the affected leaves, try to keep the foliage dry, water as needed, and fertilize once in a while.

Sorry for my absence- way too busy this year. Wow, drought stress does look a lot like it. I guess I went too far in the opposite direction with drainage... now that I think about it, it got worse after I was away and relying on a drip hose on a timer for a little while, too. They died relatively slowly- I don't think I actually pulled them out until October, at which point they looked extremely sad but still weren't 100% dead. I was going to just use new bagged potting mix this year, mostly due to time but also to keep things from drying out too much (mostly using fabric pots now), but after planting half my transplants it's alarming how compacted it looks. I think mixing it evenly with pink bark mulch should give me roughly 5-1-1-ish proportions, and then I'll just keep a closer eye on the watering?

Cherry Tomato Plants Dying?

I started some cherry tomato plants in an Aero Garden and then transplanted to outdoor farm. They were doing fine until the Summer Heat of the Southwest began. The leaves started to turn brown and die The roots still look good. Will the plant survive and start to grow again when temps cool down?

HI their, tomato can be a easy thing to grow but also can get a number of problems. Yellowing it not a big problem in tomato it is two thing, one is that as the leaves age they get old and yellow and die. this will happen from the bottom of the plant and work it way up, as the plant ages.
second thing is as it is flowering and fruiting it can be a lack in deficiency. The one's that turn leaves yellow are nitrogen, magnesium or iron , now look at the tomato plants they are Flowering and have or are beginning to fruit so if it a deficiency. I myself would have to say it a magnesium deficiency
Through a teaspoon of Epsom salt (Magnesium) in a water can and water the plant any Trace elements feed is good for plant's at flowering or fruiting season.

now if you get ring like spot on leaves this is most likely a fungal problem the most common one in tomatoes is watering ....

Watering at base level with a hose will flick soil up on to the leave, so then the soil manifest into fungal spores due to the sun. Now to fix this is to spray the plant with anti-fungal spray that you can get at your local garden store or nursery, after spraying take off the leaves that are infected and depose of them in the right manner.

Tip:- Work with the 3 D's which means (anything that is Dead, Diseased or Dying needs to be pruned off.

If they're getting sufficient water, it looks like a nutrient deficiency. However, for good fruit production, growing them in pots can be rather demanding - they do require a good balance of trace elements with adequate potassium and phosphorus mixed in with a complete fertiliser. The pics suggest they are a tall growing variety, which usually require staking. The dwarf varieties would be more suitable to pots. To be quite honest, I don't think you are going to be successful with those, if I were you I'd try a crop in an open garden.
