Here's a link to an old thread re. Flores St. Seems it may be Brightside Cream. The flowers are very double, white, with a creamy center. The most outstanding characteristic (besides incredible vigor) is the scent--two little blooms on cuttings last fall perfumed the entire car. I should have plenty of cuttings available, possibly rooted cuttings, by fall. I had to cut it back after picking it up from the swap & the cuttings look dehydrated--may have to give it a rest, then take more in a few weeks. Here is a link that might be useful: discussion re. Yay - mine does have a lemon scent, and the blooms when fully open are 3 inches in diameter. If it really is Lamarque, it should re-bloom in more sun - I will have to try and root another cutting - it would be so great to have a re-blooming plant of this. Thanks for all of your input! Jackie

Jeri, I haven't been able to catch one in bloom. I'll keep trying. I had ordered Lamarque for an arbor because of all the remarks in books and on the forum about how fragrant it was, and have been so disappointed that I can't detect anything. It's doing well otherwise (except that the deadheads are sure UGLY and can be very hard to reach!). I just am sad that I personally can't smell it. I hope this doesn't mean that I am going to have the same problem with most of the noisettes scent-wise. The majority of them look so healthy and beautiful that if they had fragrance for me, I could be so happy.

Thank you Anna-Lyssa and Carol for reassuring me that I made a good decision choosing Lamarque. Ann-Lyssa, Carol was right about your pictures they say it all! I am even more excited now than I was before. I ordered two Lamarque where they will be placed on separate ends of a huge arbor at the end of my porch and a Sombreuil will be placed at the back of the arbor on the opposite side. My hope is that the Lamarque will meet in the middle and completely cover that end of the arbor with Sombreuil taking care of the back end.
