The two issues you'll need to consider are, A) the reservoir of water that will remain at the bottom of the container because the drain is higher than the container bottom. Unless you water in sips to ensure soil remains damp and no water accumulates at the container bottom, you'll have gases that include sulfurous compounds, methane, and CO2 produced during the anaerobic decay process in the saturated area. If you DO water in sips to avoid the conditions I just described, salts from your fertilizer and tap water will accumulate in the soil. This is particularly an issue with spiders because they don't tolerate a high level of solubles of any kind in the soil (solution). Drilling a hole in the bottom of the container is a potential remedy, but first consider, B) clear containers and direct sun don't mix well. The clear glass allows almost all of the light to pass through the glass. When it strikes the dark soil, it's absorbed and turned to heat. Essentially, you have a passive solar collector that can easily raise soil temperatures well above 120* in direct sun - enough to kill the plant or severely damage the root system. For that reason, you should avoid siting the plant in direct sun - even if there is insect screen acting as a partial shade mechanism. If you're sentimental about a particular plant, it's true that getting it out of the container would take a considerable amount of work that will certainly damage the plant. I don't see that as a significant issue because when you transplant you'll be root pruning anyway - hopefully. Also, like many folks, you might consider the plant disposable. I see you have cuttings started already, so it's no big deal to replace one plant with another. If your goals happen to include seeing how large you can grow the plant, another container choice would be advisable. The container would be great for making solar pickles. Recipe upon request. Al

I have a landscape that currently has Bouteloua gracilis 'Blonde Ambition' Blue Gramma Grass planted en masse (this will be it's second year but I'm in Zone 10 and so they are at full size with just year 1). I'm looking to add a White Echinacea to the mix and am debating between White Swan vs Happy Swan. Does anyone here have experience with either and preferably both? I was set on White Swan because I like that grows to about 3 feet (my grass is 2.5-3 ft and planted on a slight incline and I want both plants to have an intermingle look) and because it has a natural look as it ages (it gets somewhat dirty white). However, Happy Star seems to be a new improved seed variety from Germany and grows to about 3.5 ft (also great). High country garden sells it as a superior variety and I'm very curious if anyone has real life experience with it and can speak to how it is better or compare it to a more mainstream variety? I'm planting in mostly full sun with some partial sun on clay soil that has been broken down with 4" tree mulch and so is conditioned nicely. Watering is via drip once a week in spring and summer and twice on very hot summer days. I'm in Zone 10 and have had great success with Echinacea Purpurea Magnus here.

I always knew she looked like me but was embarrassed to say it because I don't think I was that pretty growing up & it would be like saying, yeah, she's pretty like me! lol Her other grandmother put a side by side picture of both of us on FB yesterday and I was amazed. She even has the same arch I do on the left eyebrow. William Marshal. I found my dream man. hee. I accidentally discovered him when I began reading about Henry II and Eleanor of Aquataine, another great love story with a tragic ending. They fell in love when Eleanor was married to the French king & had kids with him. She left the King of France then married Henry. Huge love story. William was one of the knights escorting Eleanor somewhere in France, and they were ambushed by the French who were after Eleanor. It was William who got in front of her and fought, while she took off. He suffered a bad leg wound, and they took him hostage. Eleanor didn't even know him but she was the one who paid his ransom, then hired him to teach the future Henry the Young, Richard I, and King John about jousts, using a sword, and being a good soldier. Henry II hired him & when he died, Young Henry hired him, then Richard hired him, John hired him, and John's son, Henry III hired him. He was loyal to a fault and although King John was a horrible horrible man, except to his children, William kept his word of loyalty and stayed. Richard chose Isabel de Clare for William to marry. William had no money but Isabel....you gotta look it up, I could talk all day long. Romance galore but not the trashy kind, great history that's well documented William was invested into the Knights Templar on his deathbed and he's buried with an effigy In Temple Church, London.

You've received a lot of good advice already. Agree that the floor to ceiling mirror makes the room look very busy. You can paint over glass/mirror with acrylic paint, after priming with gesso. Or apply wallpaper. Both are reversible. Depending on how attached your husband is to his clothing collection, he may be more amenable to trimming it down if you do it together. If you want to try, I suggest a modified Marie Kondo method which is what my mother and I did before she moved in with me. We did it over time. For example, one day we'd do pullover sweaters. Lay them all out on the bed and pick the best 10 (or whatever number is reasonable). The less desirable ones go out of the house immediately. Maybe do your own clothing first and offer him the space that this creates. But assuming the armoire stays, I really like the idea of it going where you now have the chair. Visually, it would be the least obtrusive. Does it match the other furniture or is it just similar? To me it looks a bit different. Consider painting only the armoire. Adding mirror to the front is another great idea that has been suggested. With the armoire there, consider replacing the (very wide) night tables with wall mounted floating shelves. You can find some with a drawer, or if a double shelf the lower one can hold a basket. It would lighten the look of the room, and leave you space to pull out the drawer under the bed. Looking at the inspiration picture posted by deegw, you see non-matching night stands. Maybe shelf drawers painted the same as the armoire? Then you might want wall-mounted sconces. Plug in ones are easier than the ones that need re-wiring. A "real" colour for your wall, rather than beige or white, will give your room more life. Some of the examples shown with blue/green would look great with your furniture and white bedding.
