Thanks paxfleur and Frank for your comments. Oh, Frank, I love your Candyfloss, it's so beautiful! I wish mine would turn out to be Candyfloss. Also, you know, I think I've got seriously infected with the "amaryllis fever"... I went back to the market for a 2nd trip and got another bulb, which I tried not to buy in the first trip... This one has two almost-spent blooms but there're still 2 buds, and one more scape coming up too. I love its deep red color and I had to go back to get it, although it cost wayyyy toooo much ($2.50). I guess maybe because of the Lunar New Year coming up, flowers are more expensive. Here's a pix of my second buy. Maybe Red Lion? Can you identify, pls. Thank you. And then, to make everything worse, when I was buying some pots... I saw a cluster of 5 budding amaryllis bulbs in a big pot that was selling for $10.00! I asked to have it for $8.00 and they agreed! I couldn't carry the pot home on my motorbike...so hubby will have to pick it up for me tomorrow! I'll post a pix when I have it at home. Wow, I'm going to have lots of hippis for Tet holiday (Tet = Lunar New Year) which is coming up in two weeks time. I'm so glad I went to the market today! Xuan (feeling so great!)

HDD. The January CR is only on line,no hard copy in the mail as yet. Click on the 'Order Form',and go to the Terms and Conditions of Sale,and you will find the wording to be different from the previous form in June. The $4 box fee is still there,but the "minimum combined shipping and handling charge is $15 on plant orders" line has been omitted. So,if I'm interpreting it correctly,that $15 charge is gone,and only $4 is now charged for boxing. To me,this was a good decision,as there were times I wanted to order 1 plant,but personally,felt having to fork over $15 on top of the plant cost,was excessive,when the actual shipping cost was well below the extra $11. ($15-$4 box).So I would'nt order at all,or just add on that one plant to some future order when more plants were on the order. I think they hiked the plant prices enough now,to make up for that,and thats ok with me,because its my decision now,if I want the plant,and think its worth it. At least I'm paying for the plant now,instead of 'handling'. Maybe much to do about nothing,but thats just me.;-) Bob

I like what you did with the matchstick blinds and curtains, better than the roman shades. I wouldn't order those blinds if the shipping is high (I had bamboo ones in my old apartment that I bought at target for decently cheap). I accidentally discovered him when I began reading about Henry II and Eleanor of Aquataine, another great love story with a tragic ending. They fell in love when Eleanor was married to the French king & had kids with him. She left the King of France then married Henry. Huge love story. William was one of the knights escorting Eleanor somewhere in France, and they were ambushed by the French who were after Eleanor. It was William who got in front of her and fought, while she took off. He suffered a bad leg wound, and they took him hostage. Eleanor didn't even know him but she was the one who paid his ransom, then hired him to teach the future Henry the Young, Richard I, and King John about jousts, using a sword, and being a good soldier. Henry II hired him & when he died, Young Henry hired him, then Richard hired him, John hired him, and John's son, Henry III hired him. He was loyal to a fault and although King John was a horrible horrible man, except to his children, William kept his word of loyalty and stayed. Richard chose Isabel de Clare for William to marry. William had no money but Isabel....you gotta look it up, I could talk all day long. Romance galore but not the trashy kind, great history that's well documented William was invested into the Knights Templar on his deathbed and he's buried with an effigy In Temple Church, London.
