Bulb I.D needed

This fellow came with the bulb lucky dip. to me the flowers look a bit like onion weed.! The cone shape is also new to me thanks chas

Easy, in England we used to call it "Chincherinchee"
but it's called Ornithogalum thyrsoides
At the last flower show, it came in other colours too.
Yellow and orange, I think.

Ladylotus, while inside, these palms get about an hour of direct sun in the morning. Outside, I put this pot against the inside wall of the porch so only the first and last few rays of the day hit it. Otherwise it gets burned in more sun. Probably could handle a lot more sun in ND, and I might be able to ease it into more sun here but wouldn't know where to put it if I did. MF, you may have male and female individuals. If you google images, you should get an idea of how they make slightly different flowers. I can understand wanting a "full pot" look. It would be hard to say w/o seeing the roots how much smaller of a pot you could use. No plants like to be potbound but it can seem like it if the alternative is soggy peat. As long as the soil is porous and not retentive of excess water, a large pot is fine unless you just don't like the appearance. The new pics, pretty sure the top one is a Dieffenbachia. The next may be a Kalanchoe.

In order on your website: 1. not sure, need a closer picture 2. L. angustifolia, but only an expert herbalist could tell you which variety 3. Santolina 4. I think an abutilon 5. possibly an acorus 6. Solanum rantonnetii 7. There are two species of Moraea grown, one with yellow flowers, the other with lavender. 8. Geranium "biokovo" on the right. The one on the left looks like a common weed species of geranium, but I'd need to see the flower to be sure 9. A Pittosporum of some kind The flowers look like Ipheion, but the foliage looks more like some sort of irid. If the foliage smells like an onion, it's the Ipheion. Podocarpus you're right Euonymous japonicus "microphyllus" Sedges and grasses are very hard to identify. You might try posting a picture again when it blooms, that really helps Arum italicum pictum a jasmine of some sort could be some sort of camellia, but just guessing Hopefully, I didn't miss one and get the order mixed up! You owe me one, girl ;-).

Thanks very much for all your replies! The mint 'bush' was huge, so I can see it taking over a garden. Looks like this poor garden has been neglected for years and things just got out of control. I'll plant the mint in a pot as suggested, find a shady corner for the lily of the valley plants and skip the goldenrod and sweetpea. Thanks again... I may be posting more pictures in the future because I can't tell a plant from a weed :) Kristine

I am curious about how the actual flow rate was measured. Typically, a door opening is utilized as an instrumented flow path. At the door, one could measure by the pressure drop through a calibrated venturi, but in that case there would be a pressure drop and not only would that cut the actual flow rate of the hood, but there would be some house leakage not measured. Alternatively, if there were also a fan in the path keeping the house pressure at zero to the outside, while also measuring the flow through the fan (by whatever means), then the flow rate measured should be the static value for the entire hood system. Of course, without the test fan providing zero differential, the actual flow will be less depending on where the MUA is sourced. No magic is involved. kas Correction: In an early message above, I asserted: "A fan at the hood can more easily overcome flow resistance between the hood and the outdoors, but normally this resistance is small, a few tenths of an inch w.g., so attic and roof mount fans work fine when properly sized." I now doubt that it matters much whether the restriction is before or after the fan, as most fans have fan curves that are based on total pressure drop around the path and do not differentiate between pushing and pulling. Differences could result from turbulence interacting with structures on one side or the other of the fan, and in such cases the actual flow might differ slightly for the same fan. I don't know how VAH squirrel-cage blowers might behave in this respect.

How knowledgeable and clever you are! We certainly remember
the song and wouldn't have connected the two in a million years.I also see it is a famous stud horse and I will check thru the list of bulbs from the lucky dip to see if it is mentioned. I'm very pleased it isn't an oniom weed!!
