If your dad knew the rose in a very hot climate, it would be possible for the yellow to bleach out pretty far and the crushed strawberry to darken to what may resemble "red". If he remembers the name for sure, then he either knows it faded in heat or he's remembering the incorrect colors. Circus was the original. Circus Parade is the darker sport of it. Neither are/were red and white, other than possibly in very faded, old flowers. Having grown many of the older 1950s and 60s floribundas, I can't think of one in red and white, other than faded flowers. Even Brownie faded to red with a white reverse, but started out shades of tan and yellow.
