Annette,i also love the blooms onthe tillandsias.Most of mine are mounted on driftwood with some spagnum moss,and i have one i'm growing into a sphere by using one of those cocoa lined baskets,spagnum moss,it's almost completely around it now,and has been blooming these past few years. Here's a picture of it. I also grow spanish moss,used to have it on my australian tree fern,but we had a cold winter(by our standards here in S.calif. and it killed the tree fern.Broke my heart,iloved that tree.So now my spanish moss hangs on an empty plant hanger.I like that stuff also,don't know why,i guess just the way it hangs and drapes.DH not so much,he thinks it looks like something dead!! kathi

Here's some of what I've planted: Plectranthus 'Mona Lavender' Impatiens Caladiums (okay, they rarely flower, but the have color) Gingers Firespike (this gets big) Gloxinia Streptocarpus Cat's Whiskers Torenia (I found a yellow one) Begonias (all kinds, even the "cheap" ones For deep shade: Orchids (in pots, of course) Peace lilies (amazingly, these survive in my little micro-climate up here in NW Florida) I'm a total garden maniac. My husband cowers in fear this time of year, because I like to get everything planted before the heat sets in, and I'm constantly bringing home plants. Hi Roselee. If you got the snapdragon vine from Patty, I think she got it from me several swaps ago. I got it from Barton Springs Nursery and they called it Big Bend snapdragon Vine. An empoyee collected it from a valley there. I think I have gotten a ID of Maurandya barklayana but the picture online does not agree with it, so I am not sure about it..The Peckerwoods Gardens had it IDed as such. Asarina is the same thing. The name Asarina has still stuck in the comercial world but the scientist are all over the place with this family's name. They also call the family Maurandella . It keeps me pulling my hair out trying to keep up. some asarinas are much larger leafed. Mine staid around for 4 years but those nasty winters and drought killed it off, but I have lots of babies. I have a much more delicate roving sailor vine that is just like this but tiny and it comes in blue and a pink variety.Maurandya antirrhiniflora or "Roving sailor". They make LOTS of seeds.

We have a 99 cent store close to my house,and it was the first one of those types of stores to come to our area several years ago.I go there before i go to the grocery store.We have a freezer section,fresh fruits and veggies and almost anything you can find in a regular grocery store,and name brands as well.There fresh fruit has been great,pints of blueberries for .99cents,as well as strawberries etc and most of it grown right here in Calif. They recently got a new bread vendor and oh what joy that is,sour dough,multi grain,and several other great brands.It's the only place we buy saltine crackers now,they are made by Harvest Table or something like that and are just as good as premium and the other. I have been going there for years and have never found any outdated stuff.Love that store!!! Kathi
