Hi Lisa, bihai. Yes,'Burning Bush'would be a good choice,as I've seen that name on the plant we're discussing when it was around our area at nurseries a few years ago.The info's.were so much larger than the pic on fcbs is,which is a bit puny. 'Fulgo-Ramosa' is on fcbs, and has nice large infl's.too. There's yet another similar one,Ae.'Red Bird',which has fulgens discolor and an unknown parent. Seems like this was a popular cross,NatDeLeon doing one,and Hummel doing another, and Bullis still another. How about another from Lisa ?? ;) ps: If I recall ok,the whitish berries ripen to a purple color eventually. Bob

Your plant I feel is Guz. Aurora, if you compare the floral structure of the 2 suggested plants it is clearly evident as to your plants identity, definately NOT Guz.Puna Gold. When identifying a plant look beyond just the colour. As far as flowering goes it's about at its peak.It should hold colour for another couple of months though.

Oh yes, that's the other thing-- beware of the photos and don't necessarily take them literally, especially if there's only one. It helps if there are several pics of the same plant, then you can kind of take the "average" of all of them, but a) Neos are very "plastic", i.e. will change their appearance radically depending on what conditions they were grown under, b) the exact same specimen can look completely different in a photograph depending on what the light conditions were when you took the picture, so the colors aren't necessarily true, c) water or any reflection on the leaves will create white patches or an ultra-glossy or mottled look which is not part of the plant, and c) photos can be manipulated, either intentionally or not. I think that's water, not oil, on Bedazzled, but disregard all of that whitish mottling. That's just a photo effect. Golinski's photos seem to be more manipulated than most, so I kind of take them with a grain of salt. I don't know the plant, but looking at the picture I suspect it looks more like Grande or Royal Grande, just in general appearance. Those are big plants, BTW (and so is carcharodon Tiger, I thought you wanted to stay small?). Bedazzled might not be quite as big, since its mother is Painted Lady, but PL is a self-pollinator, so unless the breeder took steps to prevent it there's a good chance its progeny will be F2s and not whatever the cross was meant to be. I would suggest Painted Delight as a possible alternative, and Michael also has a Painted Delight x Painted Lady, which is a bit bigger, with wider leaves. BTW, that last one is not my cross, despite what the catalog says-- we've straightened that out now.

Hi Guys As Lisa says, there are too many plain ol' variegated Neos. There are ofcourse the stunners that we all need ala kahala dawn, milagro, ying/yang etc. ect. I must say the some of G. Groves bright coloured plants are better (yes I said it)than most of the variegated plants around. Anyone willing to share the secret to creating plants like his? Thanks Kerry! Why is talk about variegated seedlings taboo? Sorry Lisa....it must be the "variegated fingers"! I have managed to get other plants to set seed that dont normally like to. I would gladly pass on the seed parents name to you, but it doesnt have a name. The story is this: 3 South Africans visited Central and South America a good few years ago. While there they popped into Chesters place and he then gave them a few odd plants, turns out that one of these is the elusive transmitter (or a one time luck shot)....its called (not sure who gave it the name) variegata red. That is it.. see pic below of pups. Cheers Dennis
