I don't have any of the things you mentioned, but I DO have another yellow MG---I. hederifolia var. aurea. Interested? I'd really like to have the obscura!

I think I had bad luck 1st time with Heavenly Blue too. I was actually looking for a large true red flowered morning glory. At the time there was a big vole problem. For 2 or 3 years voles would eat my young plants. I'd look out the window and see my precious plants dissapearing down the voles throats. After many attempts involving chicken wire and such I did finally get one plant to bloom, and to my horror it wasn't true red, but purple. I think they were Burpee seeds. Since that time I have lost interest in the Ipomoea genus, but I'd still like to grow the yellow flowered varieties like the Hawaiian one.

Thanks for this, Floral_UK., and it's nice to remember this exchange from six years ago. My Moonflower vines are producing buds now and I'm looking forward to flowers next month. I'm noting that this author of that article is in Mexico where it wouldn't surprise me if Moonflower produces runners. Here in Massachusetts in zone 6b they don't produce runners, and I'd have to say that in 10 years of growing them I've never gotten any seeds as frost comes too early for them to produce seeds. Are you able to grow it in the UK?

I have some cuttings of Ipomoea indica prepared for propagation. The thing is, they have not rooted successfully in water as they rotted or moulded. Is soil compost in my small greenhouse a better alternative? Oddly, I have successfully rooted Ipomoea cairica in water. But that method had never worked with indica.
