Looking out of 'My Room' and bedroom windows

This is what I see when I look out from "My Room", window.The sweet peas on the bottom left smell heavenly. Brass Band, the bouganvillia and Clair Matin will soon be in full flower

This is from the spare bedroom window. New house being built will block the view we had of the bay.The climbing gold bunny had a lot of blooms picked this morning for friends and family (and me) The red on the bottom fence is Altissimo and the 'everflowering' fuschia.

Looking through the spa from the same window where the Fireworks and Duchess of Edinburgh clematis grow. The arch will be draped with Pierre de Ronsard and Jenne Le Joie shortly.

Check on an appraisers forum to see if there would be any difference in value. Unless you are getting cash for the sale or a large down payment from the buyer the appraisal will be the determining factor if you actually get more at the sale. If you do this change, do it for yourself and not for resale. If you do this change, make sure you don't make the current floorplan dysfunctional as that will take value away. If you are using the exact same square footage and not adding any, then it is doubtful that your home would add value but you would need to get twin sales in the area to see how much, if anything, is added to the value. It may open up the buyer pool and sell more quickly though. As the others mentioned consulting with a couple of Realtors in your area would help you get a handle on the current market.

The last photo you sent me is beautiful, Maureen. I love the idea of sanding and re-staining all the wood on that wall but unfortunately the contractors we've spoken to have said it would be really expensive to do because of how thick the paint seems to be. I'm leaning towards keeping it white and just painting the inside trim of the windows black to add some contrast. I may go lighter with the ceiling beams like in your photo, though.

That blueprint is sufficient lol. You can build?!! That soffet overr the bed is perfect to fill in with built-ins on each side of the bed from floor to soffet. Attach wall reading lamps to them on each bedside for reading in bed, just get ones that plug into the outets. For the window, Roman Shades, a light plant stand type table with a plant in the window. The dresser is too heavy there. You need table lamps in here so you don't have to use the overhead all the time. Artwork. Chunky bed throw. The dresser is fine in the niche but if you can't close the door move it flush to the corner wall.

Is bed in that location just until room is painted (which looks like is needed) or can’t accommodate any other configuration? Perhaps a smaller dresser and a closet organizer would go a long way towards providing more space to move bed’s location. Curtains: if privacy is required black outs can’t be used during the day so will need blinds or sheers as well. Decor/accessorizing: bedding is a good jumping off point and paint the room last. Look on Marketplace, try Target, second hand stores, Walmart and Amazon. Look on line for inspiration and suggest using neutrals for the basics, adding bluish/grey accessories..

It is a pleasure making the beds and look out of the windows this time of the year and find all those treasures looking at you, i have that here and then I find I miss Dorothy very much just the comments we used to share.
John you haven't pruned Just Joey yet!!!,I would hear.Yes it has been more than 10 month now and I miss her a lot to share the garden this time of the year.Sorry to be morbid.

Jan, My God, doesn't time fly. We think of you every time we walk out into the garden. It is not morbid, it is quite natural when you have been married for so long - we had our 55th anniversary this year and cannot even bear to think what would happen if one of us weren't here. You have coped wonderfully well and Dorothy hasn't left you, she is still telling you what to do and speaks in more ways than being there. Chin up.

You are a truly lovely lady in your response to Jan.

Jan, I think of you often, I am truly blessed with a very close, loving family and to loose a loved one would be a terrible blow. It is wonderful that you continue in your lovely garden. I bet you think of Dorothy with every plant and job you do. She is with you - particularly when you care for your lovely roses :)I know how she loved them.

Jan, we lost a Son and I know he is here in spirit and our thoughts each day, I often even find myself having a bit of a conersation with hime when I walk past something he liked.
I am sure your lovely Dorothy is still enjoying you garden with you every day.

Tricia - your garden is an inspiration ... I love how the roses all blend in with a whole variety of plants.

Jan - my beloved aunt introduced me to gardening and especially to roses over 20 years ago. She died when I was 19yrs but everytime I go out to look at my roses - I can still hear her loving instructions and comments to me ... she stays with me though the gardening. Be blessed by yours.

Sorry to hear of your loss Jan. Life is far too short - the older we get the faster time seems to go. I'm sure your wife is still with you in spirit - I can only guess how it must be and dread the thought that one day it will happen to Dick and I too.

What a wonderul garden you have Tricia so lush and GREEN,
and it would be a wonderful haven to just sit and ponder.
It would be magnificent when all your roses are blooming and those
Clematis winding up the posts look terrific.

Tricia your garden is beautiful, it must be lovely to look out from the windows to admire & plan, your path in the first pic. reminds me of mine you can get quite wet from them in rainy weather as the plants droop with moisture beautiful.
Jan my heart goes out to you but I agree with everyone, I;m sure Dorethy is with you in spirit as you walk around your lovely garden
