You are right Tricia that week certaily did make a big difference.
Well what can I say except it is looking even better than last weekend.
I love that red Fuschia its looking very striking, so do the two Clematis,
Golden Celebration looks terrific and a very healthy plant,
Swan and Seduction are a good couple.

I'm sorry Misty, I don't know it's name but it is so easy to grow from a piece. Someone did tell me it's namea long time ago and I generally write it down, but forgot. Maybe Sooze or Mary may know?

A question for you...how do you get Golden celebration to produce flowers on such stems, and singly as well from what I can tell in the photo? Mine at the moment has heaps of flowers, but because they're all on longish canes, and flower like a floribunda (is that what they're called when they flower multiple buds on a major stem?) they're very heavy, they're all drooped over, and the flowers point to the ground instead!

Ashke, I don't think we do anything especially. They are very top heavy when they are in full flower, but I find that quite a few David Austins hang their heads down. Many of ours do have multiple heads and not terribly long stems but these are OK. We did put on some Epsom salts (magnesium) last year and this year just chicken poo, and the general garden fertiliser - all the roses liked that. Thank you all, once again, for your kind comments.

Heather, I heard on 3AW that Carol was giving a demonstration this week. She is evidently very busy but is always there if you email her, she gives excellent advice. For those who aren't aware of whom we are speaking it is Carol who propogates and runs the clematis nursery and is one of our members.

Thanks Sooze. Is your little stream running at the bottom of your garden? Have you had enough rain to make it run? If so, how about some pictures so that we can see of how good it looks!!
