I've seen some 'dwarf' varieties of arundina on EBay. If they are IN FACT a dwarf variety, I'd like to have one. While staying on Hawaii Is I picked so many from their road ditches (They grow like weeds) and they kept well in vases too!

I moved it from part shade to take this photo. When I go for full sun? It seems to die back in summer. This plant is a 4 years old red radicans and was one single stem "on sale cheap" marked down. Others like a purple I had cats killed. For the amount of green you see? It seemed heavy after all these rains to lift. I've seen around town 2 or 3' tall in pots this size!

The spotted cat was probably a society raffle plant a few years ago. Bred by Aranbeem orchids in Australia and might be available in the USA because some of the large nurseries swap flasks. Those orchid purples still are a problem even with modern cameras. Thank you for all the comments. The two Cymbidiums give a lie about all the cooling down stuff. Certainly does apply to many Cymbidiums here in Cymbidium heaven but there are always exceptions.

Hi Elsa, no they are not OK with cold. I said I paid extra $15 to Norman's Orchids to get a plant in bloom and they sent me a plant without a bloom stalk even. And no tag. So, I would NOT RECOMMEND TO BUY FROM THIS SELLER orchids.com. It was not just one time - 4 times in the row. I was still hoping they will send me good plants. I am afraid to buy online after this bad experience, but heard that there are better sellers.
