Callistemon kenmorrisonii 'Lone Ranger'

Can't recall if I posted a picture of this special bottle brush last spring but as it's such a lovely flowerer I thought I stick one (or another) in anyway. The bush is a low growing thing with branches that arch out at flowering time - now, early spring. The leaves are a bit prickly but the flower makes any slight discomfort well worthwhile.

I love the bottle brushes, they look so fragile, for the heat they must tolerate. Saw a few of them in London's Kew gardens, years ago.

They are certainly well named.Charles Dickens may have
used them in the bottle factory or was it Nicholas?
So many different colours around now. I saw a garden of white prostrate ones in a church garden. very effective.
