The palms look good. They could use more sun. The areca palms were planted with lots of seeds in one pot. The areca palms in the cluster compete and some will die off. Brown tips is usually the result of low humidity indoors.

Thanks catkim and cagary for your replies. Cagary, my plan is to keep it a pot for as long as I can. And gradually moving to the biggest pot size I can. I want to enjoy looking at this palm everyday and having it in a pot on my front door would be awesome. Maybe if I win the lottery I will find a place for it in my future mansion's atrium. Heheh. I understand this palm will likely require a lot of special attention and I have no problem with that. Even when brought indoors during winter, I plan to get a humidifier and grow light just for it alone. This would be my special palm if I do get a hold of one, I love the look of them a lot. Hmm, can you tell me about selling it, like how would you ship and if I could pay through paypal or postal money order. THanks!

Hunter, describe how you are germinating the seeds. Inside/Outside?--If inside, you need to use bottom heating (assuming your house is climate-controlled and not sweltering). This time of year, I find better results by just putting them outside in a sunny spot (just watch the moisture). May be hot as h!& for us, but most palm seeds need soil temperatures of high heat (90 F plus) to trigger germination. I once had some Traveler's palm seed that I tried to sprout in the house in the Winter (not using bottom heating but at room temp--70's). They did nothing. Come summer, and I took the pot the seeds were in and chucked it into the vegetable garden, In a few weeks, under a baking June sun, little Traveler's palms were sprouting in the garden.

This palm is just world class. I would like to buy 4 of these. I do have one tiny seedling. I bought 50 seeds and none sprouted yet after 4 months. Must have been a bad batch. I bought them on eBay and came from Belize. No more seeds, from now on I will buy large seedlings only . I don't have a dwarf, and it's my great wish to obtain one. I'm finding that abit hard. In any members got any pics of dwarfs they don't mind sharing, would be real nice?
