Elfi is could be in the Tecoma family click on the ones in the link below..
If not then maybe someone else may know.. Misty

I usually keep mine growing in the greenhouse but had one that had cold damage and lost all it's leaves. I actually thought it was dead but new growth appeared from the lower portion of the stems. I'd cut it back to about 4". If you see that the stems are alive I wouldn't cut it back that much. Just wait and see where new growth emerges.

Fairly sure Misty was right and it is a tecoma. A neighbour has some coming up in the paddock (a bit weedy), I'd have to go over to have a closer look but I'm pretty sure yours is one.
