Hello everyone! I live in a coastal area zone 7 with sandy soil. Recently, I purchased a bodywash containing Moringa; I had never heard of it so I did some research and am fascinated by this plant. I am also a pharmacist and find all of the benefits of this plant simply amazing. I would love have a plant but am wondering if it will grow & bloom in pots. Can I plant the seeds in the pots to leave outside in the summer and bring indoors in the winter? I have never had much luck growing anything from seeds so any help I can receive will be greatly appreciated (what I really need is 'Moringa for Dummies'). Thank you so very much.

I live in Fort lauderdale and I have more drumstick plants and seeds to give away it seems the pods fall and start growing, also have curry leaf plants(indian curry patta).let me know.

U of A has this tree growing, it's #62 on the map. Quite a lot of other great trees to see, too, although this is not the best time of year for viewing :-( Here is a link that might be useful: U of A tree map

To look at, the Moringia oleifera are typical of most leguminous trees. (Think Cassia, Albizia spp., etc.) They are very quick growers and need to be tipped at around 80/90cm to encourage bushyness. Every part of the tree is usefull. Leaves, flowers, seed pods and seeds are all edible and tasty. In some places they are called the "Miracle tree". Very easy to propagate from cutings or seed.
