A beautiful tropical rhododendron that has just opened. I bought this and a few others from a private grower over the internet by mail-order about 12 months ago. Mid to late winter is the peak flowering time where I garden: it's classed as the 'Sub-tropics'.

    Very pretty Bill,
    While we're waiting for the Tulips to bloom you have this little beauty arriving. By George!! you are doing well. Ditto the lovely Hibiscus like flower with feelers you posted. Been very cold at times with some rain -over the Monthly average-so welcome.
    Cold but 95,000 at the soccer mid week. Too slow a game for me but a great spectacle.

    Not here, I don't think, Inga; the virayahs are all in or coming into flower now. I think when I lived in Sydney they were later, here, near Tweed Heads, spring is consistently around a 3 weeks earlier.
