Cordyline Glauca & Rhapis excelsa dying

deadcat

Hi,

About 4 months ago I planted a row of Cordyline Glauca & Rhapis Excelsa.

They are now looking quite sick.

I was watering them every 2 days (using an irrigation system, with small sprayers), but in winter I have only been watering once a week.

The plants have been looking sick for about 2 months.

The soil is pretty bad (mix of sandy soil and clay). I have mulch on top. 2 weeks ago I put diluted sea sol on the plants.

They are in a full sun position.

What am I doing wrong?

I've read that maybe those plants aren't suited for full sun, but other sites claim they are fine in full sun. I'm really not sure! help!

I live in Brisbane.

Was that soil they were planted into or was it subsoil? Both plants look like they don't like what they're in. Seasol is a fairly weak fertiliser. If the soil is very poor to begin with it may not be helping much.
