They have fared very well. Mine died all the way down to the ground last winter, but came back full force, is about 4 feet tall, and loaded with blooms right now as we speak. I planted mine on the north side of my gardening shed, so it gets early morning sun, then late afternoon sun. During mid August, it did start looking a little heat stressed, but then as the temps dropped in September and October it came back beautifully, and as I said, now has loads of blooms on it. If I see another one this year, I think I will buy one or two more. Such a beautiful blue, and so hard to find tru blue blooms in our deserts. Easy

Theresa Do you grow it in a pot or the ground??? I have had one in the ground for a few years. It dies back in the winter. But never grows enough to bloom. So this year I dig it up and put it in a pot. Going to put it in the GH this year and see that happens. I want it to bloom so bad. I love the little blue butterflies! Dorothy

What type of artwork/craft items are you looking for? I am very interested in your yellow butterfly ginger and lavender lady passionflowers. I paint garden signs, and I also make garden "do-hickies"! These are sort of like wind chimes but without the "chime" instead they are made of beads and little mirrors. I use a mix of plastic (this ends up looking OK and is lighter so it moves better in the wind) and glass beads. Please let me know if you are interested, GGG

Hi, Here, near Houston, the plants do well. They take a surprising amount of cold and spring back the next year. They seem to enjoy the humid heat. One report in our Texas Garden Forum claims they are root hardy in North Texas, zone 7/8. On Galveston Island, where there is seldom frost, the plants get tremendous, at least 12 feet tall. There seem to be a number of selected forms, some taller, some shorter, some more blue, etc. It is a very easy plant to root from green wood, even in water as long as you change it nearly every day. One other note, I don't fertilize mine; someone reported to me that fertilizer stimulated the plant to grow and grow, but flowering was much delayed. Cordially,
