G'day Nathan and a belated welcome to the forum. Being a leanrer to broms myself and not knowing your area I wont give you exact recommendations (I find trial and error works best for me) but there are many 'mini' broms - particularly amongst the Neos that would suits your size requirements. Many of the mini Neos are hybrids but there are also many species or 'wild' broms of varying sizes out there. As for the greenhouse - dont worry at all about building a 'super structure', as you say, a lean to type deal will suffice nicely as long as it protects the plants. I have never built anything before but have recently knocked up some lean-to type shade areas and found it no problem at all. Shade-cloth itself is fairly light so doesn't need a house frame to hold it up. The plants are loving their new home and rewarding me with some beautiful colour. Before anyone has ideas of planting a paper bark (mainly Melaleuaca quinquenervia) make sure your not planting near any types of pipes, paving or driveways as they will destroy all. Great tree for sucking moisture out of the ground if u have a boggy area. Nev, i see ur from the Illawarra area, im from Newport northern beaches. How do u attach most of ur broms to trees? 20min ago i used ladies stockings (not mine haha) to a Petticoat palm. It was a neo manoa beauty. Reckon it'll work? I got 6 viable seeds from the two pods of the Pink POB. Three each to a one gallon can. But I also have at least two pinks in the ground in front of my house. We'll know for sure next spring when they flower. Lots of seeds for everyone then. Susannah, the garden did just fine without me. Minimal cleanup; however, there will be some extra litter in ten days due to the cold snap while we were gone. (Ricky's ten day to leaf drop rule.) Anna, that Latania is one of the prettiest I've ever seen. The salt spray keeps the pests from getting at it. And that bamboo hedge is a great idea for a formal or semi-formal design. It gets fairly good sun most of the day and was thriving. Of course, Jamaica receives over 100" of rain a year; almost double our 60".

Hi I have some red Caribbean papaya seeds, I am open to anything tropical or sub-tropical or hardy tropical. -Palms, cactus, succulent, bananas, cannas, heliconias, (sub)tropical fruits, kiwi vines, bromeliads, traveler's tree,bamboos or make offer. Thanks a lot Patrick
