I have Green Wave which is fine right now and really cranking actually. But Red Giant has disappointed me as I saw flower spikes on it just today, and I don't even consider it to have gotten full-sized yet. Years ago I grew something called southern giant which I recall did quite well in the heat, and I may return to it. Green Wave, by the way, is something you keep planting every few weeks in smallish patches. Keep it cut down by adding it to your lettuce blends as you gather salad greens, and do not wait for it to get big and bad for steaming because it will get tough and bolt. You can steam the small leaves, though, and they are good that way too.

Hi that's my pony!!! lol I cant find it in my stach right now Let the wave or green ride north! From Breeze, Prince and Twister hope all of you have a wonderful spring of winter sowing. My garden troops consist of geese ( sebs), a flock of ducks, hens, roos, and my sweet turkeys. I winter sow mostly tomato seeds, live near the NJ shore and love winter sowing, the troops help me with a large compost pile which works for them since they get winter sown tomatos and worms from the compost. Ducks love worms and a person carrying a pitch fork is a inviation to them to come and stand at her feet. ML

I remember the what the sprout sees from like 10 years ago. Was one of the funniest things and I think of it from time to time. Haven't ever seen the green wave though.

Congrats! VERY First sprouts are soooo exciting - - you are in for life now!!! Not worry so much about cooking them but do worry about getting some beds ready to put them in. If you need more venting, you can use sticks to prop open containers.
