So I planted this tree sping last year and managed to get a few good peaches and learned alot. I just prunned it a few days ago and got rid of any crossing branches and any downward growing branches. Also took a few inches off all branches. I recently saw a post of a peach tree that had alot less going on and folke were saying to prune it more. So I am just looking for any suggestions as to if I should prune it more and if so where and how. Thanks for any help. Its a red haven in se MI zone 6b(supposedly)

I did a similar topic not long ago. I cut them back to about an inch below the top rim of the pot. The top of the plant got a small trim then I was able to fluff up the plant. After they were pruned I lifted the sides of the plant and pulled out dead stems and pieces. I was surprised how much dead stuff was in there! The constant high heat we've had since May 1st has done a number on them along with all of my flowers. They get more shade now. This is what they looked like after the trim.

the worst part of spring fever.. is not giving any plant. time to bud out.. to show/tell you .. first if its alive.. and second ... where to prune it ... i consider my garden to be indy equivalent.. and i think you are about a month early to be out there making decisions like this ... unless you have a couple decades of experience .... that said.. in my entire life experience in z5 ... i have never had a lavender over winter ... so it wouldnt surprise me.. if its not dead .. especially if it wasnt covered in snow all winter ... insulating it from desiccating winter winds ... [in other words.. it got freeze dried] be patient grasshopper .... the garden will tell you when its time and how to take care of it ... ken ps: i cant recall right now.. why L didnt work.. other than it was soil moisture at the wrong time of year .... maybe too wet in too cold of soil type deal???? .. but what season was that???? ... which means.. if you fail at L .. you are with a great majority of us.. lol ... [and this is where the few exceptions say its the easiest plant they ever grew .. lol]

Sorry to say, but you will have to move it then. There is no way to tame these beasts. Do you have another spot for it? I hard prune mine each spring down to 6 inches and they still grow to 6-7 feet. I’ve read (never tried it) that if you prune during the growing season they will shoot out branches every which way... looking like a crazy mess.
