In my ongoing search for info on various tropical and native rainforest plants, I routinely pick up every gardening book I see to find *something* on the Philodendron. Given that they are such a variable, attractive and resilient plant, I dont know why more isnt written about them. Any ideas ?
Thanks Dee - there are quite a few pages on the Net which cover the Philodendron. Not sure why this level of interest isnt reflected in the print media - perhaps they are a little too common and hardy to provoke the interest of authors. My 'Thai Garden Style' book has a lot of them in various photos, but they are rarely credited in the accompanying text.
Yes Artie, I know what you mean. I wonder if it's a matter of 'fashion'. Perhaps philodendrons are not flavour of the month at the moment. There is mention of them in most indoor plant books, (although not many varieties) but hardly ever regular garden books. I do come across other plants that are neglected in the same manner...who knows why? Cheers, Dee.
