deflasking orchids/paphs

I'm interested in knowing who deflasks straight away after transit and who waits for a while? Any info on deflasking would be appreciated as everyones telling me different things.lol!

Never bought any that way myself though sounds exciting to start them off this way.

Not that I know anything about them but if you Google that question most sites tell you to leave them for a week or so, so they can get acclimatised.

I've done that and as i said half the sites say to wait and some sites say because they've been shook up in the mail they'll become contaminated so should be done straight away.

My hometown is Hatillo PR. A tropical beauty Island. I recently discovered that Paphs are easy growing here, I observed that they need less fertilizer than other orchids and that they like to be in small pots. Thank for the comments.

Olya, they're lovely. Does the Ho Chi Minh smell good? My few rebloom in Phal conditions, including a bit of direct sun in the morning. In the summer, they're outside in E/SE light, cut 50%. Earlier conversations have stayed with me - when it doesn't bloom, and everything else seems right, try a bit more light. Judy, Paphs can be easy, although not for everyone, of course. Some stay small, if you have space issues, and some get big "wingspans." Whitecat8

You say you have done it.. How did it go.
I would have phoned or emailed the person I bought them off if not enough info posted with them.

Just so curious as to how they can get contaminated in a flask just by being shook up ?
