I have a strep Maasen's White . It is a mature plant in a 4" cont.

I know nothing about this, but am gonna say that you should probably mount them on their own just so that they don't kill each other off when they get larger. and also, mybe use thinn pieces of wood so that they could easily be attached to a larger mount later on (i'm assuming that you wouldn't use a mount suitable for a blooming sized plant because then you would have alot of them) and also maybe in a terrarium? just for humidity? I suppose you could put 2 or 3 on a mount, just not like 5. that would be my best guess! good luck to you and if you wanna share, feel free to lemme know!

First of all, don't indulge the futility of getting obsessive-compulsive about trying to track down an esoteric style of container a plant originally came in. There are literally thousands of plastic container molds in the wholesale market and very few are available for retail sale in small quantities. Many come from Canada or overseas suppliers. They are generally used as temporary pots that will be discarded as the plants are potted on. You will, however, be able to find something locally that meets your needs I have found that plastic mesh pots work well for paphiopedilums planted in sphagnum. Terracotta is good, too -- I particularly like the rimless ones from Italy. It's too bad it is getting more difficult to find the paper pulp pots in smaller sizes these days, as they breathed well and made good containers for terrestrial orchids. Since most orchids are epiphytes, pots marketed toward orchid growers are rarely taller than they are wide (epiphyte roots have no strong geotropic tendency to grow down). You might want to look at liner pots and even some of the tree seedling products if you want a deeper pot. But if you only have a few orchids to repot, I would just get some terracotta pots locally. Olya, they're lovely. Does the Ho Chi Minh smell good? My few rebloom in Phal conditions, including a bit of direct sun in the morning. In the summer, they're outside in E/SE light, cut 50%. Earlier conversations have stayed with me - when it doesn't bloom, and everything else seems right, try a bit more light. Judy, Paphs can be easy, although not for everyone, of course. Some stay small, if you have space issues, and some get big "wingspans." Whitecat8
