For fertilizer you drive down the street and find an empty bag in a trash can and drag it around the yard in spring after it greens up. Lime will do you no good, you need dump truck loads, not bags to raise your PH. With Centiweed you do not use lime. All you really need to do is wait until spring after the grass greens up, loosen up the soil, broadcast the seed, and water it in. Keep it watered until germination. Centipede ain't called LAZY MAN GRASS for nothing. You drag an empty bag of fertilizer around the yard in spring, and mow it once a month whether it needs it or not. Although, in Missisauga, the soil is more likely to be alkaline than acidic, so wood ash may not be a good idea.

Hi CoralCoast, Fair enough - the guy at Rocky Palm Farm told me that lawn fertiliser was good for them. Unfortunately, my one serious ambition in the garden is to completely eliminate anything resembling a lawn altogether :) If you've got a backyard that looks like a jungle / rainforest, then thats the look I aspire to. Palms are just one component of the canopy that I'm in the process of putting together, and I expect that the neighbours will begin to wonder if there is still a house on my block within 3-4 years :) Cheers, Artie

AS=ammonium sulfate. The organic compounds of the fertilizer are slow release while the synthetic ones would act way quicker. Again you can use any fertilizer that is formulated for acidic loving plants such as azaleas, camellias, rhododendrons as they all belong to the ericaceous family. What blueberry really need is an acidic soil with a PH between 4.5-5.5 for optimal growth, plus they like moist and should only be watered using rain water as the tap water could be way to alkaline. Your 551 should provide the low PH required and a good drainage. You can use your blueberry food you used last year I don't see why you should change it since you switched to a 551 mix.
