...just my observations but I agree with others that it's a dead ringer for 'Zephirine Drouhin'...going from the description.... and I assume this will be from the 1950's?... when I read earlier descriptions of this rose, they all seem to agree that it blooms until checked by frost and the disease issues that we see today, don't appear to have been such a problem in earlier times.... over here it's always put down to increased pollution kept these issues at bay, but today's cleaner air allows more black spot and mildew to proliferate... that's how I understand it... ....I can imagine in Shelbyville Texas, decades ago, this rose would have still been regarded as disease resistant... ...even here, it also grows to 8 foot or so in its first year.... all sounds about right...

I'm not sure exactly how big it is because it's growing out through a gigantic hydrangea on a very steep slope covered in fallen trees and branches. But it has long flexible canes. I wouldn't be surprised if they were 12' or more - I haven't been able to see where they go into the ground. The hydrangea is acting like a support for it. Some branches are completely horizontal. I found a few volunteer baby roses downslope from it yesterday and eventually realized that a pair of them were growing up out of a long cane that had been flattened by a falling tree and may reach back to the mother plant. It has started rooting along its length into the ground. I didn't know you could layer roses. I foresee I'm going to learn a lot about roses this summer. :)

I am in coastal Southern California, Huntington Beach. My Eden was planted 1 1/2 years go, has only 4 hours of sun and in the second year in April had a flourish of about 60 flowers but has not produced more than 2 blooms and this is the end of August. I would give it more time, perhaps a year or more and she may surprise you when her roots are established.
