Can't really get a good look at the flowers to be sure, but it looks like a tree waratah (not a true waratah), Alloxylon flammeum.

thanks wollemia, but no - the leaves are a different shape and not as glossy as the tree waratah..??

Stenocarpus?

Looks like a stenocarpus as Rose suggests. We were recently surprised by one flowering around our dam, didn't even know it was there as it is amongst some other scrubby plants.
