Louis XIV can often be close to black. Blooms very well, very fragrant, pretty hardy in my zone 7 climate. Gets blackspot. My seedling, Jack Daniel. It's a seedling of Louis XIV with tiny blooms on a plant with good vigor. BS prone.. Midnight Blue is usually pretty dark. It's a great bloomer and fragrant. Pretty strong plant but not very fast growing here. Well-branched. I used to grow Black Baccarra but I didn't love it. Here is it looking fairly red:

I am from India as well read some of the comments above, I have brought some roses from china which said black and white roses and rainbow roses, I know they are completely fake but the best thing is that even if a single rose grows from those seeds it will be a great success for me. Yes they are rose seeds as I can distinguish from their shape and size. They do need some cold period in fridge I have kept them in moist soil for 3 weeks nothing happened so I am now keeping them in fridge red white, orange whatever color they end up in I will be happy to accept.

Linda is a very sweet person and deserves a winning new hybrid. We are waiting to see how stable the colors will be in different climates/locale. Ron, it's a new seedling that Linda is hoping to eventually enter as a new rose, Paso Doble. So far she's got a few bands from that seedling and they are still maintaining the dark within the dark-black red swirl. Everyone, Keep Your Fingers Triple Crossed for Linda! Bgrose, black is the only color my James can accept for a rose. My roses drive him crazy, but he did say he could appreciate Paso Doble. The rest of mine could go up in flames as far as he is concerned, lol! He says I have no time for roses and need to stop growing roses, hehe! So if there is a rose to make him change his mind, it'd be Paso Doble....
