Thank you peaseblossom! I think my mom says that the vine is like 3-4 years old. No she cannot get it to seed. She said that in other provinces it would seed and needs insects to polinate it. She sprays in her nursery so that might be one of the causes, killing beneficial insects too. Some growers are successful in propagating this plant through cuttings.

We had a huge red jade vine growing over a metal framed open pergola-like structure. The vine's "trunk" was about 7 feet tall, and it grew back upon itself about 20 feet. Very huge, but accidentally over-pruned by an overly enthusiastic husband, which led to its death. We live a little above sea level. If supported, it can probably grow over time.... must be trained, though.

On my return to Sri Lanka I planted a Mucuna Bennetti about 4 years ago and it is on a trellis and growing vigourously. However, it is showing no signs of flowering! Many years ago, on this same site, with probably a little more sunlight then than now, I had a Mucuna vine growing on a similar trellis and it used to be loaded with flowers and it began to flower within about 2 or 3 years of planting. What is the explanation for this state of affairs? The light that the vine now receives is less than its predecessor did many years ago but it is not in shade, per se. Help!

I am looking for red jade vine, either seed or plants. Since I have little or nothing to trade for such a request I am willing to pay for the privledge. Thanks
