Hello everyone, I've sowed 21 big and 15 small lettuce tubs since the 16th, but only now am getting around to posting. Last year I had amazing success with winter sowing, after about 50/50 the year before that. Now I'm out of containers :( I've put out a call to my usual sources, so hopefully more soon! Germination was more successful than seedlings!! I did get enough and I prob planted too many. If they have roots and leaves, definitely put them carefully into good seed raising mix,water well and don't let them dry out. Some seed could still germinate so I just leave. Our weather has been funny. We get blasts of heat as a trough goes over WA so that it goes up at least 10-15 degrees overnight, more in summer and then drops. No wonder my seeds often fail. They die of heat stroke:-(((((( We've just had another 2 days over 30. I'm still on a learning curve. Good luck

I'm in love with the columbines too. I have a mix of doubles and singles from a trade if you want to try them, last year I planted clementine, I have a rose color and a purple-ish color, they are blooming now I should have seeds soon. I can send you some of those too for some of the green apples. I traded like crazy for columbines last year and have alot of seedlings right now. I'd love to keep in touch for any new ones we can trade. The best way to start these is in milk jugs either winter sow or spring/summer sow. Please message me, thanks.
