Aftermidnight, I've seen many other plants this nice. His other ones. The reflection of this plant in the pot is genius. Growing a collection of caudices is beyond that. Jeff, I imagined a clay lace backdrop for the vine. The vine would grow in perfect, even twirls. The holes in the lace are heart-shaped, reflecting the leaves. You gonna work on that, Keith? ;)

Lol!! I thought it was fine, but I mean, shipping is always a mood killer. For me, it's only worth it to purchase online items if I really desire the item and it's hard to find locally. I don't drive a prius so making a 1.5 hr drive out somewhere and back is basically the cost of shipping anyway. It does go up a little, the more plants you buy but shipping wasnt like a whopping $10-15+ or anything. I'd say go ahead and create an account, throw things in your cart and see how much it will be. (: The website will tell you. The account is pretty useful too! It saves the items in your cart and you can view past orders.

HA! I like to think that I do, but I'm sure it's just my imagination. My thoughts were kind of leaning in that direction. That as the caudex grows it'll start "heaving" some of the top dressing aside and become visible on its own so that I won't have to keep moving it aside to peek. I do that about every 3-4 months when I can no longer resist the urge and I have to know what's going on down there. I really only brush aside maybe 8-10 pieces of gravel so I can see that it's still there and not all dessicated and shriveled. I haven't completely unpotted since several months before it started growing this time last year so it's probably been a good 14-16 months since I've seen the entire caudex. I'm thinking that once the vine dies and it goes dormant again next Summer might be a good time to unpot, change the medium and raise just a bit. I think it was a year old when I got it. I'll have to check the email I got from Arid Lands to know for sure. Pretty sure it's at least 3 years old by now.

If it was in leaf week ago it was needing water regularly I have had them look swiverled up and start watering them and they swell back up It however looks like it doesn't have any viable roots to take up water Sometimes they send out a weak vine and keep it for months and the caudex just swiveral up
