Sorry to hear it really WAS agaves--not fun at all. I've only used the ready-to-spray Imidacloprid stuff so I can't help you on any of their other formulations, but it's great stuff to use for sure. The ready to use spray suggests reapplying after 30 days I think. In any case, good luck and do keep us posted. Thanks for emailing me your pics. This looks like frost damage to me. If it is in a cold exposure situation I would withold water, they can go a very long time without a drink, especially in winter. The damaged leaves will continue to dry up and could be removed without hurting the plants health. Can you move it to a warmer area or cover it when the temps dip below 40F? This is not a cold hardy Agave. It is a zone 9 to 11 plant. This could help it from happening again. These guys are generally hard to kill but sometimes easy to beat up. Hope this helps, Gil

Either it is rotting, or it is simply stressed by sun and heat, and isn't getting enough water, and is resorbing water from the older leaves at an accelerated rate. I suspect it is rot, but maybe not. Watering twice a week in hot, humid GA seems a bit much too me. Are they also getting afternoon thundershowers this time of year? My potted agaves get water every couple of weeks, and there is no rainfall at all. Unpot, remove the resorbed leaves, and examine the stem for rot. If there is soft, black stem, you can save the plant by transecting above the level of the rot. Then callous, plant on dry soil, and wait until the plant has roots before watering. If there is no rot, re-pot and enjoy the plant without the ugly leaves.
