carlk. I wouldn't worry about how slow it grows, really. If you force it during the summer, with fertilizer extra water, it will simply split it's sides & be prone to rot , anyways. I doubt it'd bloom any sooner. It is just one of the slower growing cacti. I've had flowers on Aztekium & Geohintonia, sooner. Although I think only Pelecyphora asseliformis seens to be about as comparably slow to reach flowering age. But I must admit, Aztekium hintonii, isn't in much of a hurry either.Patience is definitely required... Hope your cacti do well, this spring (get 'em extra heated up & then watered early!) gringo

Tjicken, time is definitely not on our side if you think that peyote is extremely slowly growing and it needs three years -more or less- to go from seedling to mature flowering adult. The truth is that I haven't seen any other cactus that it looks like mine. It must be a peyote as it looks like it. Thanks for the link. Caudex1 you are right, mine looks like "it is pumped full of food and water", but again I have seen cactus named as peyote and looked like that. It is very cheap and many persons from my country cannot find it and order it from abroad. It is very unusual to find this kind of cactus in a plant store here in my country that's why I am a little skeptical but I am thinking to buy more of them.

You can't do this legally, no - the DEA says any Lophophora which contains mescaline (which they say L. williamsii certainly does) cannot be trafficked, bought, sold, given or possessed in the U.S. - heaps of trouble will rain upon thee. This is why most shows in the U.S. will not allow them (I once had to get a displayer to remove his plant because there are folks who can create trouble for you if they see them). There's lots of grey here, but it's best to not throw caution to the wind - our hobby doesn't need that sort of adverse attention. Let me tell you, having an FBI or DEA agent show up at your work brings about a certain tingling where you don't want it. I'd be surprised if you got a public response from inside the US - this plant is available but it shouldn't be sought for in black and white, you know? I know of at least one person here who's the definition of honourable about his plant dealings and he has this genus in many of its forms - he may have extras.
