I would really like a cutting of Grand Duke or Maid of Orleans Jasmine to raise as a house plant. Also, am looking for some Hydrangeas. I have two, a blue mophead and a blue lacecap and hope to add other colors. Check my trade list and if I don't have what you would require in a trade perhaps I know someone who does that I can get some from. Thank you in advance of consideration.

hmm.... I can't really think of any jasmine that smells close to sambac.... i dislike star jasmine too. Ones I really enjoy are pink jasmine, double crape jasmine, Madagascar jasmine, and poets jasmine. which variety of sambac have you tried? I find they all perform differently for me. Some varieties are much more resistant to pests I've noticed.

Wow! I would jump on this opportunity in a heart beat but temps in my area are so cold, I would worry about cold damage. Any chance you could get a picture of the vine? Andre

They are plants with origin in deserts!!! They need less water and love plenty of sunshine. The brutal sun of Australian summer toasts leaves of every plant but not of Jasmine. Just keep soil moist. Fertilizer should be added during Summers when it is actively growing. Sunburned looking leaves might actually be leaves damaged by spider mites. Best way is to spray the underside of the leaves every day covering the root ball to avoid overwatering it. Just use plain water to knock the mites off.
