Courtney, I really wouldn't do that. You will change the look of your plant. What I mean is where you cut will forever look like you cut it. The plant won't grow from the top again. It will loose it's beautiful shape. If that makes sense:). If this was mine I would leave alone. Your Euphorbia is pretty as is. Eventually your plant will get new growth. BTW one of my favorite people in the whole wide world is named Courtney:).

I'm not convinced that what you have is trigona. It doesn't have the same markings or growth habit. But with so many different cultivars out there, tracking down an id on yours might prove a challenge. I'm no Euphorbia expert, but I'll bet someone on here knows exactly what you have. You might try posting this in the Houseplant forum as well. I think you might get more responses that way, since Euphorbia isn't technically a cactus anyway. And the spots really look like sunburn to me, especially since you say that it was recently moved outside to full sun for a while. However, like I said, I'm no expert. I think your best bet is to repost this in the Houseplant forum. Good luck!

While I appreciate your reply, im afraid that a half meter plant is pretty far from adulthood( they can reach 1,5meters/5feet and still be juvenile)...... As for the led lights, well, i was hoping to hear of care in more natural conditions..... As for the later part, "natural" trigona is fully green, and often without leaves.... where as numerous red cultivars exist in cultivation.... so im asking whether or not those "really red" cultivars end looking "less red" or ones that are "less red" by default end up completely green. Also, whether or not a "really red" , a "less red" and a green one have different growth speeds, due to possible difference in chlorophyll content. Im also curious whether some cultivars keep their leaves on longer...
