Agave Media Picta pups.Some have a white stripe like mother plant.Others have no white stripe.What would the ones with no white stripe be called

Dear Crikey,

I had my little joke. I was hopeful that someone in the know would let us both know.
i did a little research on the internet and found not only media picta but also midio picta. That is a bit confusing .

I was wondering if the varigated form was some form of hybrid or a natural mutation.

I have seen varigated plants that have not been grafted that have thrown a branch that is not varigated and the advice is always to remove same. I wonder if that is what has happend to your plant it has simply returned to the original species or as these plants were grown from seed is it simply a case of cross polination .

Hello again ...I apologise to all of you who responded. My wife and I had our first child just before this trade offer was posted , we had some medical issues with our daughter , all is going great for her now .However due to the time in and out of the hospital and the overtime worked to keep up with the bills , the frequent calls to the insurance company and the general caos of a family experiancing their first child I became too busy and regretfully forgot I had even thought of trades. While I do still have a few of these plants the pups I have at this time are far too small for a fair trade, and the parent plants are quite neglected. It will be some time before I could feel comfortable offering these for trade. Again I'm sorry that I did not get back to those who responded, bet i missed out on some nice haworthia , aloe and pachypodiums

Talk about a blessing concerning, "Give and it shall be given unto you." Well it seems like just last month I sent out some pups to some of the people that asked me for one and low and behold one of my neighbors moved and left ALL his plants behind and one of them was an Agave americano just like the one in this picture, and it's around the same size as the one in the picture too. The NEW home owner said he was having them removed and well I guess you know the rest of the story, YUP! it's now at my house, Yeah he gave me the cactus around the house The Agave is the same size as mine. He gave me all the cactus spices that he had also and I'm just excited to say the least. I wish I knew the names of them all but trust me they are NICE... "Give and it shall be given unto you is the first thing that came to mind when this happen, I just happen to stop by and meet the new owner and PRESTO!! LOL... He wasnt into Cactus I guess. Yes, I'm stuck in the middle with you. San Diego to Germany, that's much farther and further than San Diego to Kamloops, Canada (me). You know you have lots of botanical gardens there and there are lots of Germans who grow and study these plants of ours, right?

This group is funny. These plants are succulents and not cacti. I have an Australian sitting here reading your messages, she is in stitches. (laughing) Norma
