Canna Lily

I have been serching for a White Canna Lily. I have traced them to a site in America but no luck in Aust. There is a cream one available but not till June. Does anybody else now of any white canna's or have some in there garden. I am interested in the Mid to Dwarf variety.

Does anybody out there know where I can get a WHITE CANNA LILY, they are available overseas but there must be some in Aussie Land. Is there a garden Centre anybody has seen one.

Hi, I LOVE cannas and have been trying to trade for some. don't know if you have any left or if you were able to trade all those out. If you have any left I would be interested in trying to come up with some stuff you might be interested in. I was surprised when I first discovered seeds on my cannas and they have been easy to germinate for me (and I'm not big on growing from seed). I don't know if they come true from seed, I think depends on plant. In my case, both were species, so they did come true. Was pleased that they bloomed the very first season so if they don't come true you can always yank and save for a swap without investing too much time or real estate on them. Many of the fancy hybrids are sterile and do not produce seed but I've read of cases where people found seed pods and planted. I can't say what the outcome was. again. worth trying and ditching if it doesn't meet expectations

oh.. and btw.. now just take a good pair of heavy kitchen scissors... and cut out that leaf.. outta site.. outta mind ... but if it happens again.. you will know there was a second ... i presume you know this is not a houseplant.. and that you have it indoors because of your situation .... if you need help with what to do with it for winter.. you might ask in the houseplant or perennial forums ... and MAYBE someone will know ... the question that comes to my mind.. is whether it will bloom again.. if it does not go dormant for winter ... ken

Diane, Growing canna plants are usually planted outside after “ALL” danger of a frost has passed. Your available growing location best determines your choice of growing in ground or investing in large containers to be grown on a patio or a sunny location of your choice. Canna's growing in containers typically require more care to ensure adequate water supply and the mature plant is subject to be blown over in strong winds and becoming root bound. Plants growing in the ground do require some weeding and occasional watering and nutrients. This first year I would place it where you will receive the most enjoyment and where you can provide the best care. Best, Kent

I have asked around like the neighbours no one has any or every heard of them , next time I go to the nursery or places where I buy my plants I will ask there ok.....MM

Well no luck at the nurseries either, none of them had any,let alone white ones.
Also tried at a Big W Store wrong time of year she said dosnt remember
ever getting white ones she said they came in packets.

Go to Ebay Australia, at the moment there are 3 white Canna"s called Eureka for sale, go to the Gardening/ Lawncare section, best of luck to you, let me know how you got on, or you can wait until my White Canna Eureka multiplies & get one then. let me know.

Hello,
there is a white canna called eureka, there is 1 you can buy now on ebay, so go into the gardening & lawncare section to find it ,go into the tropical section under newly listed to find it,in the canna section, also the 3 that were previously there are back, the 3 white canna"s.
