Herbs as companions and for compost?

Hi all,

Our garden is coming along slowly with herbs such as Feverfew, Tansy, Mints in sunken pots, Chives, Comfrey and Borage interplanted with their various fruit tree friends. But I am genuinely interested in others that are around and would use them as companions to fruit trees and veges, plus also for in the compost heap. Some that I am interested in are names like Horsetail, Fathen, Horehound, Southernwood and others that I cant remember at the moment. Can some of you Herb people out there reply to this thread with advice on those mentioned and advice on others that may help as either companions to the fruit or as good for lots of bulk for the compost?

Fruit trees planted are Peach, Plum, Pear, Apple, Nectarine, Apricot, Cherry and Avocado.

Any help will be really appreciated

Thanks
