When we just had 10 pages of old posts, we always suggested that the newbies read them, before they wnet into cyberspace. NOW we have 67 pages, but it would be nice for the newbies to do like you did and read a page a day. You would learn a lot from those posts, too.

Our house had the typical 80's kitchen, white formica counters, almond appliances, yellow oak cabs & 'brass' hardware with the white inserts! Oh it was horrible!! Even in the 80's that was horrible. Luckily the cabs were easy to paint, appliances easily changed (to black) and counters & backsplash went to black 4x4 tiles. Hardware is vintage brass...gives that ORB lookish. I found a very intricate, gorgeous vintage brass fireplace screen & andirons at a yard sale for only $25. It's sooo heavy and the patina is incredible. The man who sold it to me couldn't believe anyone would want it! Oh no...it's a beauty!! I'm also in the process of replacing my 80's doorknobs with authentic vintage brass & glass knobs & estucheons. Don't care what anyone says...that original 80's stuff...SHUDDER!! I even hated it then!

I've read several of Berry's books, and liked them. The one I enjoyed the most was "The Romanov Prophecy"...which I got on cds. Also read "The Amber Room" also very good, and "The Third Secret". It's been a while since I read/listened to them, so I don't remember all the details, but I did enjoy them well enough. Did you know he had a new one come out last December? It's called "the Charlemagne Pursuit". Are you planning on reading that one? I probably will in the future...too much going on right now! Helen
